Instagrammer, blogger, mother of 5, traveler and writer, Courtney Adamo is a woman that inspires.
Mrs. Adamo and her family have been described as the most "stylish" family in London and she has been compared to the likes of Maria Von Trapp from 'The Sound of Music'. After living in London for about 12 years, the whole family moved to Australia, but this weekend she is here to celebrate Christmas Eve with us Londoners at ShopUp.
A sensation in the online world, she started her journey with the Babyccino Kids blog, where she is co-founder, but her trip around the world -in search of a new home- with her husband and kids brought her recognition in the media, plus a lot of Instagram followers.
When a blog becomes a business success
Babyccino began as a blog-project by three mums friends who wanted to share with the rest of the world their hip lifestyle and recommend stuff they liked to other parents. It soon gained popularity and today it has become a shopping portal for about 300 of the world's most cool children's brands.
But the site is more than just shopping. They define themselves as "An international lifestyle website for modern mums". They write posts for parents and parents-to-be where they can find inspiration and ideas for their parenting, plus family-friendly city guides to have the best family-adapted trips.
What is more, Mrs. Adamo has written a book called 9 months. The book is a step-to-step guide of the 9 month pregnancy in a "fun and informative way to prepare your child for the arrival of their new baby brother or sister."
Instafame
Mrs. Adamo's popularity grew in Instagram while she took a gap-year-world-trip looking for a new home with her family. The idea of the whole trip generated curiosity by itself and people wanted to keep up with the British family that was exploring the world with 4 kids.
She even made a stop in my home-country: Uruguay, and like me, I know a lot of people that started following her after this, because the closeness to things we see daily makes the story more relatable, more human.
But what does Mrs. Adamo think about her 'InstaFame'? In an interview with Fenwick.co.uk she said:
"I don’t really see it like that, but I do think that it’s been really beneficial for our business in growing our audience, and it has definitely opened a lot of doors. I’m also really thankful to have such a wonderfully supportive network of followers, and feel so lucky to be connected to mothers all over the world."
Clearly as she says, the branding in Instagram is always useful to generate an online community that later will engage with your blog content. A useful strategy for any woman in the blog business, as you want to generate faithful followers for your brand.
Do not miss this Sunday & Monday ShopUp!
After the trip around the world the family settled in Byron Bay, Australia, where they finally feel like home. However, Mrs. Adamo and two of her kids have traveled this weekend to London to celebrate the 10th year anniversary of Babyccino and therefore, attend the ShopUp.
The ShopUp is taking place on December 3rd & 4th at the Chelsea Old Town Hall. It is the 5th time the event is celebrated in London. This year they will have lots of activities for the kids, with a real Santa showing up, food from well-known cook-book writer 'Deliciously Ella', plus more than 50 independent shops selling unique and stylish children's brands.
It a great opportunity to buy original Christmas presents, and who knows, you might run into the charming Mrs. Adamo herself for an autograph!
